Biodecolorization and Biodegradation of Dyes: A Review

چکیده

Dyes are one of the most widely used chemical substances in day-to-day life, including different industries. Dye manufacturers, as well users, experiencing great difficulty complying with stringent regulations on wastewater containing dyes and derivatives. Most industries still use age-old technology machinery thus find it difficult to cope change scenario current environmental disposable limits, which improvised by pollution control boards. The inherent difficulties because technical inadequacies during dyeing result a large amount dyestuff getting directly lost industrial effluents. Synthetic quite stable recalcitrant compounds. Henceforth, release poses an ecotoxic hazard potential danger bioaccumulation, eventually affecting flora fauna. Huge quantities water consumption generate volumes highly contaminated Conventional treatment processes have limitations color removal from wastewater. Although physico-chemical techniques practiced, suffers ‘economy-to-scale application’ paradigm generation polluting toxic byproducts, posing disposal problems. In contrast, biological involving microbes, plants, or their products (such enzymes) touted alternate cost-effective methods for decolorization degradation such synthetic dyes, albeit limited full-scale successful applications. Biodegradation xenobiotics has been topic research over two decades, success production secondary metabolites byproducts. This review paper is effort towards discussing importance biodecolorization biodegradation emphasis some recent updates immobilization in-silico modelling future possibilities.

Biodecolorization and Biodegradation of Azo Dye Reactive Orange-16 by Marine Nocardiopsis sp.

Background: Azo dyes are xenobiotic compounds that have bioaccumulated in the environment due to escalated industrial development. These are hazardous in nature, possessing carcinogenic and mutagenic effects on human beings. Objectives: The perspective of the present study was to isolate and to determine azo dye (Reactive Orange-16) degrading potential of...

Biodegradation of textile azo-dyes byPhanerochaete chrysosporium.

Of 18 commercially used textile dyes, eight were degraded by the white rot fungus,Phanerochaete chrysosporium, by 40 to 73% based on decrease of colour. Both the lignin-degrading enzyme system ofP. chrysosporium and adsorption to its cell mass were involved in the degradation of the diazo dye, Reactofix Gold Yellow. Degradation was best achieved by adding the dye to the medium and then inoculat...

Decolorization of mixture of dyes: A critical review

Water plays a vital and essential role in our ecosystem. This natural resource is becoming scarce, making its availability a major social and economic concern. Use of a large variety of synthetic dyes in textile industries has raised an hazardous environmental alert. About 17 - 20% of freshwater pollution is caused by textile effluents. These effluents are recalcitrant to biodegradation and cau...

Biodegradation of azo and heterocyclic dyes by Phanerochaete chrysosporium.

Biodegradation of Orange II, Tropaeolin O, Congo Red, and Azure B in cultures of the white rot fungus, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, was demonstrated by decolarization of the culture medium, the extent of which was determined by monitoring the decrease in absorbance at or near the wavelength maximum for each dye. Metabolite formation was also monitored. Decolorization of these dyes was most exte...

Decolorization and biodegradation of remazol reactive dyes by Clostridium species

Decolorisation and biodegradation efficacy of potential strains isolated from dyeing effluent collected from Tirupur region, Tamil Nadu, India were studied in remazol reactive dyes. Two potential strains Clostridium butyricum (EI05) and Clostridium acetobutylicum (EI25) identified by biochemical tests in our previous study were studied for their decolorising efficiency on various remazol reacti...
